TOMO bandana is mohair scarf worked flat, back and forth, in stockinette stitch (knit the right side, purl the wrong side). It is knitted from the center toward the tips. First, one half is knitted to the tip, then the second half is worked from the center to the other tip so that both sides have matching decrease stitches. An applied I-cord edge is knitted afterward as a finishing trim.
SIZE – one size. Length: approx. 108 cm (42.5 in), width (at the widest point) – 25 cm (9.8 in)
GAUGE – 23 sts x 27 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) in stockinette stitch on 3.5 mm needles after washing and blocking.
NEEDLES - Circular needles 3.5 mm (US 4) (80 cm / 32 in) for the main part, and 3 mm (US 2.5) double pointed needles for the edge.
YARN - 50 g of mohair silk in Color 1 for the main part (two strands held together) and 25 g of mohair silk in Color 2 for the edge (three strands held together) of Tilia by Filcolana or Kid Silk by Drops (25 g = 210 m (230 yds)).
